The work
The brief
A shipping insurer wanted to leave a glass tower for something calmer, without losing the openness its teams were used to.
The response
We kept the warehouse frame and cut one long rooflight down its spine. Desks sit along the windows, meeting rooms are rooms with doors, and a library at the end of each floor takes the noise out of the open plan.
Materials
Douglas fir joinery, microcement floors, and wool felt on the ceilings to hold the acoustics.
