The work

The brief
The library had a south-facing hall that was too bright to read in for half the year.
The response
A double layer of linen curtains runs the full length of the glass. On grey days they open and the room fills with daylight; on bright days they close and the whole wall glows.
Materials
Unbleached linen, solid ash tables made in Jutland, and a terrazzo floor with stone from the old building.
